Youth Ministry

As you may have guessed, I'm into youth ministry. God's made it clear to me that's what He wants me doing. And when God asks me to do something I like to do, I don't argue.

God wanting me in youth ministry shows He has a sense of humor. I can be a mess, but He uses me anyway. Have you ever wondered if God can use you for anything? Then you might want to check out this page.

Most of what I do in youth ministry is pretty laid back. There definitely are times when I talk about serious stuff with the teens I hang with. But I try to earn that right first. I'm not into authority trips.

More Stuff About Me

Well, I have these really weird toenails. . . Oh you don't want to hear about that? O. K. Well, here's some slightly more important stuff:

Around my 14th birthday, I trusted Jesus for forgiveness and for life with Him forever. (For more on that, go to Bad News and Good News.) That was awesome, but my teen years weren't easy. Among other things, my mom died when I was 13. So I know what it's like to go through tough stuff as a teenager.

I'm a writer (surprise!). My main project out is God Knows What It's Like to be a Teenager. The home page talks about that. And I have excerpts from it posted on the site. I've also written other books.

I used to live north of Dallas, Texas in the country with a half-blind cat, angry thieving mockingbirds, fussy cattle and lots of space. But as part of following God's guidance and making my life more focused, I moved to an apartment in a slightly more urban setting. Then I moved to some wild land near Corpus Christi where I live now.

I've had a near death experience in Tasmania. I'm not joking.

My beliefs: Jesus is Lord, and I'm not. The Bible is right all the time. John Calvin was right most of the time. Legalism stinks. And GOD RULES!

I also like bodyboarding, skating, and chess, but don't like Hell.
